Annually, as the summer winds down, and the cool breezes of fall start to blow, there is a sense felt deep inside every whiskey enthusiast that whiskey season is upon us.
Events seem to come fast and often and the new releases pile up faster than laundry in a house full of kids playing multiple sports, and parents working shift work.
I have been especially blessed this whiskey season to be asked to host and co-host a handful of events taking us up to the holiday season. I will run through all these events as well as ticket info for the ones that you can come join me at.
Starting this weekend (September 28/29) I have back to back events.
The first of which is actually oversold so unfortunately tickets are unavailable but it is going to be a fun night exploring an International collection of single and blended grain whiskies.
The second event this weekend will see me return to Chartier Restaurant in Beaumont AB to co-host the September Sunday Spirits Club with Owner/Head Distiller Gurpreet Ranu from Anohka Distillery. We will run through a custom made welcome cocktail made by Chartier "Bar Dad" Mike Chan, as well as a trio of spirits that have been paired with custom creations from the Chartier Chefs. These events are always a crowd pleaser and to be able to sample both the best food in the Edmonton area and pairing that with world Award winning spirits from our own backyard is extra special.
Into October, I am so happy to be co-hosting a tasting with my good friend Dave Woodley at Keg N Cork in Edmonton that features whiskies paired with their cask influences. This is a tasting that has been a couple years in the making and one I am truly excited to share with people. It takes place on October 18th and tickets are available now and a bargain price for an evening that will surely be one to remember.

Into November, I have a couple of private tastings that I am exceptionally excited to host. One is a charity fundraiser which are always at the top of my list to look forward to. If you ever want to get a group of friends together for a fun evening with some shared knowledge and some top class drams, reach out and we can put something together.
The final event of the year for me is one that I am still in shock and very honoured to be able to share with people. I have the absolute privilege to host a masterclass at the 2024 Banff Whisky Experience. Taking place on the final weekend in November, my class falls in the prime time slot on the Friday of the event, I will be showcasing 10 different Single Grain whiskies from around the world at the "World's Most Beautiful Whisky Festival" in the heart of the Rocky Mountains.
Tickets are available for individual masterclasses as well as the main grand tasting event currently but the classes are filling up quickly so don't hesitate and come join me in the greatest setting for a festival in the world.
Stay tuned to the web page for any further events that may be added in the future and I will be sharing some more reviews and articles in the near future. Maybe even some secrets that will be revealed soon on possible upcoming releases.
